Welcome To Coram James

We are an independent firm of professional valuers, specialising in the appraisal of fine art, antiques, jewellery, the decorative arts and general household contents, for insurance, probate, divorce and litigation purposes.

As a professionally accredited firm we work closely with the UK’s leading insurance companies, insurance brokers, law firms and other professional advisors. We are approved valuers for high net worth insurers, including Chubb, Hiscox, Covea, AIG, Azur, Duel, Home & Legacy and Axa Art.

We are regulated by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and members of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) and the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers (SOFAA).

Our experienced team carry out valuations for private individuals and deceased estates, as well as large companies and public institutions, such as museums, universities, landed estates and galleries. We have over thirty five specialist consultants, all ex-Christie’s, Sotheby’s or Bonham’s valuers, providing valuations of a wide range of categories, including: old master paintings, contemporary art, Asian works of art, musical instruments, clocks, watches, jewellery, and many other categories of the fine and decorative arts.

Coram James also provide valuation reports for litigation purposes where there is a dispute involving art, antiques, jewellery or the decorative arts. As RICS registered valuers all our court reports are Red Book compliant. We have many years of experience providing forensic valuation reports and have provided oral evidence in both Criminal and Civil cases.
